About My Practice
About My Psychotherapy Practice
For twenty-eight years in Sherman Oaks, California, I practiced a form of therapy adapted to my clients' specific needs, which helps access hidden, unwanted feelings so they can be released. Drawing on client-centered therapy, I acted as a compassionate facilitator to help clients better understand and accept their psychological and emotional processes. For those so disposed, I included Transpersonal Therapy and Psychosynthesis which help a person recognize and nurture their unity with the spiritual core within their consciousness.
I am now retired from practice and devoting most of my time to my ongoing career as an author and speaker.
Therapy is a joint process based on building an emotional partnership between client and therapist. Clients decide how much they are ready to reveal at any time. Eventually, the more a client can share--even what may be difficult or seem insignificant--the greater the progress.
In private practice between 1980 and 2010, I have a Ph.D. degree in Psychology and a license (No. MFC15349 now on inactive status) from the state of California to practice psychotherapy as a Marriage and Family Therapist (MFT). I also have over fifty years' experience with people in several Twelve Step Fellowships. I am the author of four books three of which are now available on this website:
Your Soul Is Calling, Healing Our Ego Addiction (2017);
My Ego, My Higher Power, And I(1985); Forever One, Letters from God-You Are Perfect Love (2005); and The Twelve Steps for Everyone...who really wants them (1975).
The Twelve Steps for Everyone . . ., originally published anonymously, has sold more than one half-million copies to date, and is available in a Spanish translation edition titled Los Doce Pasos Hacia La Liberacion Espiritual.
My free brochure, Transformational Therapy, describes the type of therapy I practiced in more detail. Please send for your free copy. See Books and CD's page for a description of the brochure and the books.
